“We’re excited to have completed these innovative projects for Corporación Favorita and Grupo KFC,” said Pablo Lopez, CEO of SolarTeam.

Corporación Favorita (C.Favorita) Solar Complex

Located in Quito-Sangolquí, the Corporación Favorita solar complex is designed to meet 100% of the renewable energy needs for 20 of its commercial premises. This 2.4 MW DC / 2 MW AC photovoltaic project was built to the highest standards of quality and environmental sustainability.

The installation features 4,368 Jinko 550W panels and a suite of Huawei inverters (100 KTL, 60 KTL, and 40 KTL). The ambitious project not only underscores the company’s commitment to renewables but also sets a new benchmark for sustainable industrial practices in the region.

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Solar Farm

In El Inga, Quito, SolarTeam completed another groundbreaking project for Kentucky Fried Chicken, marking a significant milestone for commercial solar energy in the country. With a capacity of 2.5 MW DC / 1.29 MW AC, this industrial-scale photovoltaic complex is now the largest commercial self-supply project in Ecuador.

Notably, the solar farm powers 26 KFC stores across Quito, making it the first project in the region to generate power in a location separate from its points of consumption. The installation uses 2,720 Jinko 550W solar panels and 40 Huawei inverters (60 KTL and 100 KTL), reflecting a strong commitment to cutting-edge technology and sustainable corporate energy solutions.

Efficient Deployment with High-Density Racking

These milestone installations for Ecuador’s corporate sector were deployed rapidly thanks to PEG EW’s efficient, high-density racking systems. This technology allowed SolarTeam to deliver innovative, scalable solar solutions while optimizing land use.

The KFC project, for example, was implemented in two phases, with the second phase designed to fulfill the entire energy demand of all 26 store locations.
