Romanian energy holding company CIS Group is advancing a significant green energy project. On Tuesday, the company announced the development of a 23 MW photovoltaic (PV) park in Copsa Mica, Sibiu County, representing a major investment in the region’s clean energy future.
The project will also include a storage capacity of 4 MW to improve energy management and grid stability. According to CIS Group, the PV park is expected to be commissioned early next year.
In a press release, the company shared that the venture will be financed by Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), a vital step in boosting the country’s renewable energy production.

One is a 50 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located near Targu Mures, Mures County. This energy storage facility will play a critical role in balancing local energy production and consumption.
The second project is a smaller PV park near the city of Reghin, also in Mures County, with a production capacity of 5 MW and a storage capacity of 1 MW. Both projects are expected to begin soon and will significantly expand CIS Group’s renewable energy footprint in Romania.
