Boviet Solar U.S. Manufacturing: Impressive Expansion by 2025

Boviet Solar Deepens U.S. Commitment with $400M North Carolina Campus Through Boviet Solar U.S. Manufacturing

Boviet Solar, a prominent Vietnamese solar manufacturer, is significantly expanding its U.S. manufacturing footprint with a major two-phase campus in Greenville, North Carolina. This ambitious project represents a total investment of approximately $400 million and is projected to create over 1,300 local jobs, marking a pivotal step in the company’s “Made-in-USA” growth strategy and bolstering the domestic clean energy supply chain.

A Two-Phase Powerhouse in Greenville: Boviet Solar U.S. Manufacturing

The expansion is not just a single factory but an integrated manufacturing campus designed to cover key stages of the solar production line. Understanding the basics of solar panel manufacturing helps to appreciate the scale of this development.

The first phase, a state-of-the-art 3.0 GW PV module manufacturing facility, was commissioned in April 2025 following an investment of nearly $294 million. This plant, which utilizes advanced manufacturing machines, is already producing Boviet’s Gamma Series™ and Vega Series™ modules and employs 374 workers across production, quality control, and logistics.

Construction on the second phase, a 3.0 GW monocrystalline PV cell factory, began in January 2025. This facility is a crucial step in vertical integration, focusing on the part of the solar panel manufacturing process that converts raw materials into photovoltaic cells. Once fully operational, this plant is expected to employ more than 900 workers in roles ranging from manufacturing and engineering to maintenance.

Bolstering Domestic Supply and Local Economy with Boviet Solar U.S. Manufacturing

Together, these two facilities establish a comprehensive U.S. manufacturing hub for Boviet Solar, reinforcing its commitment to the American market, which the company identifies as its largest and most strategic. This significant investment, detailed in a typical solar panel manufacturing plant cost breakdown, demonstrates a strong belief in the future of U.S. renewable energy.

Boviet has already delivered 9.2 GW of PV modules to the U.S. market, supplying large utility-scale projects like the 745 MW DC Hornet Solar Project. This new campus will further enhance its capacity to serve American customers while contributing to the nation’s energy independence.

The project has also been a significant boon for the local economy. Regional organizations, including Pitt County Economic Development, have been recognized for their role in supporting the investment, which brings high-quality jobs and stimulates infrastructure development in the Greenville area. As the Vietnam solar expansion: Impressive Growth Faces ’24 … continues, this move by Boviet highlights a global trend of localizing production for key markets.
