Ipsun and Versiris to Install Rooftop Solar Across Virginia

A strategic collaboration between Virginia-based installer Ipsun Solar and national developer Versiris Energy is set to deploy 1.58 MW of new solar capacity across the Commonwealth. The initiative will utilize the expansive, often underused rooftops of storage facilities, with plans for at least a dozen projects in the portfolio.

This multi-site project marks a significant step in leveraging commercial properties to advance Virginia’s goal of achieving 100% clean energy by 2050. The partnership’s inaugural installation has already been completed at a facility in Fairfax, Virginia, officially launching the large-scale endeavor. The next site slated for development is located in Chantilly.

Leaders from both companies highlighted the complementary strengths driving the partnership. “We are delighted to partner with Versiris Energy–they bring a tremendous track record and commitment to high-quality projects,” said Jim Cahill, General Manager of Ipsun Solar. “This collaboration allows us to extend our reach and impact, bringing clean, renewable energy to more communities. We look forward to a bright future of innovation and sustainability together.”

Echoing the sentiment, Rocky Shoemaker, Vice President of Engineering and Construction at Versiris Energy, emphasized the value of local expertise. “As we continue to expand our national offering of Commercial and Industrial solar projects, partnering with Ipsun Solar has been crucial to that endeavor in Virginia,” Shoemaker stated. “Their familiarity with the Virginia market, astute engineering skills, and boots-on-the-ground team have proven invaluable to our combined success.”
