JA Solar 650W Modules: Stunning DeepBlue 5.0 Mass-Produced

JA Solar has officially launched mass production of its cutting-edge DeepBlue 5.0 high-efficiency solar modules, featuring an impressive power output of up to 650W and a conversion efficiency of 25.1%. According to PV Magazine, these modules are designed for utility-scale and commercial rooftop applications, with dimensions of 2,278 mm x 1,134 mm x 35 mm and a weight of 42.3 kg.

JA Solar’s Advanced Solar Modules: Featuring JA Solar 650W Modules

JA Solar has introduced its DeepBlue 5.0 series, featuring four models with power outputs ranging from 630 to 650 W and efficiencies between 24.4% and 25.1%. The modules are built with 182 mm n-type wafers, 144 half-cut cells, and can operate in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

The DeepBlue 5.0 modules employ JA Solar’s proprietary Bycium+ 5.0 n-type cell technology with an advanced TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) architecture. This technology is a significant leap forward, as TOPCon solar cells are known for their high efficiency and reliability. These n-type cells offer distinct advantages, such as reduced degradation and improved performance in low-light conditions, thanks to their lower sensitivity to light-induced degradation (LID) and superior temperature coefficients. This builds on the success of previous generations, like the DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules which also utilize TOPCon technology to maximize energy output.

This innovative design results in a bifaciality factor of 85%, allowing the panels to capture reflected light from the rear side. Combined with a low temperature coefficient of -0.26% per degree Celsius, the modules ensure enhanced performance in various environmental conditions, from large solar farms to commercial rooftops in climates like Germany where maximizing yield is critical. The modules come with a 25-year linear power output warranty and a 15-year product warranty, providing long-term reliability for solar projects.

JA Solar Expands with New Manufacturing Facility for JA Solar 650W Modules

JA Solar has made a significant advancement in solar technology with the unveiling of its DeepBlue 5.0 series, marking a new era for the company. The launch coincided with the inauguration of their latest manufacturing facility in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, China. This state-of-the-art facility is part of JA Solar’s ambitious plan to expand its production capabilities and meet the growing global demand for high-efficiency solar modules.

The Nanchang plant, with a total investment of 12 billion yuan (approximately $1.64 billion), is set to play a crucial role in the company’s production strategy.
