Sunview Expands into Uzbekistan with 600MW Solar Plants

Sunview Group has announced its entry into Uzbekistan’s energy sector through agreements with the country’s Ministry of Energy. The plans include a 400-megawatt solar plant in the Andijan region and a 200-megawatt plant in the Fergana region.

Sunview Partners with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy for Solar Plants

Sunview, a prominent renewable energy company, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This collaboration, managed through its subsidiary Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, will center on developing two major solar plants in Uzbekistan.

The company is also exploring the possibility of supplying renewable energy to water-pumping stations in Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region, part of a larger effort to bolster the country’s sustainable energy infrastructure.

“We are honoured to have been awarded these significant projects, which underscore our commitment to renewable energy and global expansion. This collaboration showcases our expertise in delivering large-scale solar PV and BESS installations,” said HP Ong, Group Executive Director & Group Chief Executive Officer of Sunview Group.

Sunview Group to Lead EPCC of Solar and Battery Projects

Under the agreement, Sunview will handle the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) for two large-scale solar plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The projects include a 400 MWac solar plant paired with a 100 MW/200 MWh BESS in the Andijan district and a 200 MWac solar plant with a 50 MW/100 MWh BESS in the Fergana district. Sunview will also serve as both the investor and asset owner for these initiatives.

“These 600MWac solar PV plant and 150MW/300MWh BESS projects added to our pipeline will ensure the Group’s financial viability in the coming years, supported by favourable tariffs for both the solar PV plants and BESS. They will also accelerate Uzbekistan’s transition to renewable energy, helping it achieve a 40% contribution from renewable sources by 2030. By increasing the share of renewables, our projects will not only contribute to a stable energy supply but also reduce the nation’s carbon footprint. We look forward to a successful partnership with the Uzbekistan government,” said HP Ong, Group Executive Director & Group Chief Executive Officer of Sunview Group.

Sunview’s Vertically Integrated Role in Sustainable Energy

Sunview operates as an investment holding company that fosters sustainable ecosystems through its subsidiaries. As part of its commitment to becoming a leader in renewable energy, Sunview aims to diversify into other clean energy sources beyond solar, complementing its vertically integrated role in the solar energy supply chain.

Sunview’s dedicated team provides end-to-end renewable energy solutions that span the entire supply chain, from the upstream manufacturing of aluminium solar mounting systems and midstream engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) to downstream roles as a solar asset owner. With its 360° sustainability solutions, Sunview is committed to making sustainable energy accessible to all and guiding customers on their journey toward environmental responsibility.
