VSB Italy Secures Permit for 36MW Solar Plant in Sicily
FRANCOFONTE, SICILY – VSB Italy has achieved a significant development milestone, securing regional authorization for its 36 MWp Passaneto solar photovoltaic project. The utility-scale plant, located near Francofonte in Sicily, has now cleared a crucial permitting hurdle, paving the way for its next phase.
The successful acquisition of the regional permit is a key step forward for the Passaneto project. According to reports, this authorization is essential for large-scale energy projects in the region and confirms the project’s viability as it moves towards construction.
With this critical approval in hand, VSB Italy is targeting a 2027 start for the construction phase. The development will involve the installation of thousands of photovoltaic panels, a process that relies on a robust and advancing supply chain, such as the new Impressive SoliTek solar module line which recently opened with a 200 MW capacity.
This project adds to the growing momentum of solar development in Italy, a market that continues to attract significant investment. The country’s favorable solar irradiation, particularly in southern regions like Sicily, makes it a prime location for photovoltaic installations.
