The Biopio Solar Farm will feature more than 800,000 solar panels and a 300 MW battery storage unit. The sheer scale highlights the complexities of the solar panel manufacturing process, which involves sourcing specific raw materials and understanding the basics of manufacturing. The project is being developed by a consortium of companies, including TotalEnergies, Sun Africa, and M. Couto Alves. Construction is set to begin in 2025 and is expected to be completed within two years.
