Atiaia Partners with V.tal to Supply Solar Power for Telecom Operations

Brazilian renewable energy firm Atiaia Renováveis recently announced it will supply solar power from three solar farms in Pernambuco state to V.tal, a domestic telecom and data storage provider.

Atiaia Partners with Tecto to Supply Data Centers with Solar Power

Through this partnership, Atiaia’s Sol do Agreste I, IV, and V solar farms will provide 237 GWh of clean electricity annually to power data centers owned by V.tal’s subsidiary, Tecto. This initiative is expected to prevent thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions between 2026 and 2041.

Rodrigo Assuncao, CEO of Atiaia Renováveis, emphasized that the partnership marks a key milestone in the company’s growth strategy, strengthening its position as a driver of sustainable transformation and supporting the energy transition.

Atlas Renewable Energy Powers V.tal Data Centers with Draco Solar Plant

Atlas Renewable Energy, a global provider of renewable energy solutions, is entering the Latin American data center sector through a contract with V.tal, a São Paulo-based telecom and data storage provider. The agreement will see Atlas develop the Draco Solar Plant, which is set to produce approximately 1,150 GWh of clean energy annually.

“With this contract, we aim to service Latin America’s data centres by shifting toward sustainable energy solutions, especially given their ever-increasing importance in our region and the world. Our agreement with V.tal solidifies our footprint in Latin America’s data centre sector. But it is only the first step; we look forward to supporting the operations of digital infrastructure companies throughout the region, helping drive growth powered by clean energy, as well as competitiveness in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.” said Carlos Barrera, CEO of Atlas Renewable Energy.

Data centers have seen significant regional and global growth, fueled by the rise of artificial intelligence, the expansion of 5G networks, and increasing demand for multi-screen experiences. With data sharing among millions of users growing exponentially, the industry faces a pressing need for a stable, efficient energy supply.

The Draco solar plant (579 MWp) will allocate 710 GWh of its annual output to power V.tal’s facilities across Brazil, along with the current and future data center campus operated by its Tecto division. The remaining capacity will be available for other companies seeking to meet their sustainability objectives. Hospital network Primavera Saúde and poultry producer Rivelli have already signed contracts to receive power from the plant.
