Solarvest LSS5 Project: Stunning 2024 Expansion Proven

Solarvest Holdings Bhd, a prominent clean energy expert, has significantly enhanced its regional presence by securing a Letter of Award (LOA). The award appoints Solarvest’s subsidiary as the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contractor for a 60-megawatt (MW) solar project in Kuala Langat, Selangor, under Malaysia’s Large Scale Solar 5 (LSS5) scheme. This comprehensive EPCC role covers the entire project lifecycle, from sourcing raw materials to final grid connection.

Solarvest Secures Second Solarvest LSS5 Project

The Star Online reported that this contract, awarded by Nextree Synergy Sdn. Bhd., marks Solarvest’s second successful bid under the LSS5 scheme. The initial LSS5 project, a 50MW solar farm, was announced on August 16, 2024, with a contract value of RM103.5 million. This new 60MW project, formalized at the Energy Taiwan 2025 event, is scheduled to achieve commercial operation by October 2027 and highlights a strong Malaysia-Taiwan collaboration in clean energy.

Fong Son Hung, Solarvest Group CEO, stated that the company is thrilled to have secured the second LSS5 project, marking their 12th LSS contract since the inception of the scheme. He highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s renewable energy goals and its ambition to become a major player in the solar energy sector. Successfully delivering such large-scale developments requires a deep understanding of the basics of solar panel manufacturing to ensure quality and efficiency.
